Second life: our recycling program

Gerflor offers to collect all types of installation waste from its corporate clients and distributors, with the aim of recycling it and reintegrating it into the manufacturing process.

Gerflor also provides solutions to recover glue-down flooring after use.

The Second Life Program, our collection system in more than 10 countries

Launched in 2011, this scheme is free for installation companies and distributors and is tailored to their requirements. It also accepts competitors' flooring.

Once collected, the products are directed to one of our two recycling centres.

The secondary raw material obtained is then transported to Gerflor factories to be incorporated into new products.

Collection systems are available in more than 10 countries, either through Second Life or collective schemes.

From Collection to Closed-Loop Recycling

Products collected through the Second Life program are processed in dedicated Gerflor recycling centers. They are sorted, treated, and transformed into high-quality recycled raw materials for new products.

Since 2017, we have partnered with PAPREC through a joint venture to operate a recycling facility in France. In 2025, Gerflor took over an additional recycling center in Germany.
We also reintegrate production scrap into our products, supporting our ambition of zero-waste factories.
