Jarvis Public School

In 2024, Jarvis Public School initiated a complete renovation of its aging gymnasium facility. The goal was to modernize the space to support physical education, after-school programs, and recreational activities while ensuring the space remained safe, durable, and visually appealing for young students.

With a focus on creating a high-performance environment for learning and physical activity, the school board sought a resilient flooring solution that could withstand heavy daily use and provide comfort and safety for elementary-aged students.

The renovated gym at Jarvis Public School now serves as a vibrant and multi-functional space that promotes student activity, health, and well-being. Recreation 60 flooring offers the perfect balance of safety, performance, and design—contributing to a long-lasting solution that meets the diverse needs of both the school and its community.

To meet the project’s needs, Gerflor’s Recreation 60 – 6062 Canadian Maple (429 vg²) was selected as the primary flooring solution. This cushioned vinyl sports flooring provides excellent shock absorption, durability, and acoustic comfort — all essential features in a busy school gym. The wood-effect Canadian Maple finish offers a classic aesthetic that mirrors traditional hardwood, while benefiting from the ease of maintenance and performance of synthetic materials.
